LOL! I started riding tracks on an RMX. I said the same thing Nick is saying now. I wasted time and money on suspension and setup. T-Bone said, get a real bike. I bought a CR125, and instantly realized anything other than a CR, YZ, KX, RM, or a SX should stick to the trails.
Wasn't long before I was laughing at guys on the track with headlights too. LOL
Photos look great btw Nick! ;)

you'll get no argument for me.

if you are gonna ride the track excusively, you need a track bike properly tuned. if you are doing nothing but trails...same. but if you are going to trie to both, you either will have to make some sacrifices to one medium or the other, or get two bikes.

and Thanx...since I took them. LOL

damn looks like a good time!

The suspension is really easy on the KTM, get your sag number then make a call. Katie talked with some guy up north that builds suspensions and sells parts, she got a great deal on her springs and the guy was dead on with the spring rates he told her she needed. PM her and she can tell you who it was.

Katie changed her suspension herself, there were no special tools needed but we did have the spanner wrench for the rear shock so if you need to borrow just let me know.

pfffffffffffft... bwahahahahahaha...

i'm laughing my ass off over here bro.

one day soon, when he's in the garage by himself doing something, he's gonna see an old kickstand or headlight in his garage on a shelf somewhere and just start laughing to himself. he may not admit it for a long time though, if it hasnt already happened too.

:haha:

Sometimes you have to work w/ you have. I think you all know my job/financial situation. A new bike is out of the question as you knew before you posted it. In case you didn't know or forgot KTM makes a SX bike that is no different than mine except the transmission w/ means nothing cause I'm not racing. fyi - I do notice it is a downfall on the track though... Oh well, that's :):):):)ing life!!!! If I get my bike tuned up for a stiff woods ride I will be fine on a any track...

I love how the "you need another bike" recomendations come from a guys who claim the bike doesn't matter in MX and either don't have a bike or is riding a clapped out 125cc.... thanks for the recomendations guys
:bsflag:

I know what would be optimal, I don't need you guys pointing it out... If I had the choice I would have 3 dirt bikes. Just so you know it would be a KTM 300EXC, Kawi 450, and a KTM 450SM so STFU and take in how much of a bad ass I am in those pics..

Way to go Nick, air off the water tower jump!:Banane09: Just remember that baked clay is a lot harder than sand.:aargh4:

As to the suspension, the XC is sort of halfway between the Enduro XC-W and the SX. With the right spring & turning some clickers it will be good enough for the occasional trip to HR. Mine was fine. If you start airing it out a lot though......

You could call Doug Harvey, he lives in Hontoon Island just west of DeLand, he set my clickers & adjusted the preload & fork position for $25! It was then much better than stock. I could have got there myself with a few weeks of tuning, but for $25........

He ~might~ have some used springs too.

You should come check out the Hare Scramble race Sunday, it's off 415. I think Bill is coming out to watch. You might dig trying that too.

lol.... HA HA HA... no :):):):)...

there is a damn water tower though.... what the hell can ya do???

I LOVE THE WATER TOWER JUMP!!! to bad you dont know what it feels like to lay pan cake whips over it :p i trained with the owners son Jad Knox when i was racing, hes a pro. The best track there by far is the sand track. The thing with the water tower jump is you have to hit it whiped to the left, if you go straight you could go off the the track into a ditch indo and get a gnarly concusion like my friend Howard. Did you check out Jads "free style" park there? its really cool.

I'll turn the camera a little to the left next time... The sand track sucked IMO, but to each his own... There were guys flipping the one sunday I was there, don't know who it was though...

Great pics... Looks like a blast. We only do woods runs, but I would love to get on a track ! I like little step ups.
