got me a busted femur

long story short, did my first major race back from getting hurt bad last september on a bike. i raced a PA state harescramble at track by my house. ended up racing open A. got a good start and settled into 3rd place out of 18 guys or so.about the half way point of the race i came up on a few lapped riders. i went wide on a straight to get around them. was in 4th gear nearly ready to shift to fifth. and all i know i was upside down flipping (hit a drainage ditch). i knew it was bad when i landed and my shin bone was hitting me in he face. most people that saw it said it was the worst wreck they have ever seen and thought i was actually dead. so after a helicopter ride and an 18 inch titanium rod in my leg on sunday night and i am now home waiting to recover. i have the x-rays but i am not sure how to get them posted, they are in some strange format. but needless to say i just started to get rolls around better last week, they could actually be called a roll. but oh well here i am. i will try to get my x-rays up here in a bit, i mean i got nothing but time haha

It either sounds like your having a string of bad luck or you really need to hang up the bike cus its not your thing. Good luck with the recovery.

sorry to hear about that.... You still don't know what happened??

they said about 8 weeks andit should be pretty good. as far as i know i hit a drainage ditch in the weeds at 4th gear on the rev limiter (give er take about 50mph) and it sent me right out over the front, and i guess i was tangle up with the bike fr a while. someone has a pic of the crash, i guess it was one of the longest crashed people have ever seen haha. my bike was super far from where i was, it was thw worst things i have been though, when i was sitting there and my leg had like a second 90 degree bend it was pretty scary. i wish i could get a pic of the x-ray going, its a pretty good one....

That sucks - I'm sorry to hear that. I know what it's like to bust a bone at the start of summer: you'll be going insane by about August!! Hope everything heals OK and you're back on the water soon.
