Got a ticket yesterday

I am in New Buffalo for the summer and ride my SJ there almost everyday. I usually get in trouble with the cops just becasue im a smartass and they dont like me. Anyway, yesterday my dad boat a new little life boat and i threw it in to see if it ran. Its got a 5 hp on the back. SLOW AS BALLS

I went out for around 10 minutes in some chop and on my way back in the cops were there and waved as i went by. a minute later they turn around and pull me over for no registration. I told them that i just bought it and wanted to see if it ran and that was all. Then they did a check to see if i had everything onboard. i had my two bros on there and between the three of us there were only two life jackets. I thought fast and told them that i just realized i had two life jackets and that it was the reason i was comming in so soon. The cop was all snotty about it and gave me a warning for no registration and a misdameter for not having a pfd. pissed me off.

Anyway, they gave me the ticket and told me i have ten days to pay it. The problem is it doesnt say how much it is and it doesnt give me a phone number. It does say berrien county trial court in three oaks. I was just wondering if anyone knows how i can find the amount online so i can pay it before 10 days is up. A bunch of people are telling me to throw it out but then theres a warrant out for my arrest (For a friggin life jacket)

thanks for any input.

They will send you a bill before issuing an arrest warrant. I might wait on that one, obviously the guy didn't know what he was doing if he didn't fill out the ticket correctly.

I got a warning ticket last weekend for a no wake zone violation.:splatt:
I am now basically banned from the marina as I was told that I was "unable to operate my craft in such a manner as not to create a wake".

Whatever. . . .

Great excuse to be gassing at the boat ramp:biggthumpup:

I was a deputy for a few years and would especially write tickets to smart ass little punks. Be cool and you might have a different outcome next time.

Ok so what do you do if the cop is wrong? Yesturday I was leaving the boat ramp and the water cop pulls up to me and says you were moving to fast in the no wake zone. Now I know I was not because I hate wake zone speeders around a crowded boat ramp. I was going to argue, but I said ok sorry about that, I'll try to keep it slower next time. He still gave me lip, but didnt write me a ticket or warning. If he was going to write me a ticket, how could I have politly, but firmly told him I was not speeding and to take his ticket and shove it?

Tickets don't always have the costs on them, foo.

The court will determine the fine, you will have to call and find out. Do not wait for the court to contact you. if you do not want to pay, then contact the court and go that route.

I got a misdemeanor for riding past one hour before sunset a couple years back. I was informed that for a midemeanor the court will look at my history and determine the fee and or jail time

Ended up costing me about $100, I have no criminal past ... well I guess I do now :cool2:

The DNR in MI is absolutely useless!!!
