That sounds pretty lucky... anything over a 31 inch bumper height measured from highest point of the bottom of the rear bumper is illegal in Illinois. And if you think modifying the bumper will make it legal... HA that is illegal also. I got pulled over every other week with my Dakota, it had 10 inches of lift and 35's. I only drove it on weekends and had to trade it 6 months after I lifted it.

Did you have a mullet when you had that truck? LOL

2 standups don't fit in a pcikup bed side by side without one on an angle or a modification to the bed to fit over the wheel wells (i.e. plywood sheet with reinforcement in centre)

ya so ill keep what i have but...

so i will keep with my normal way
i just upgraded to larger 15" rims and tires 250 on craigslist i will sell my old ones.

the way i have it work and is a easy deal the 300 is light.

i only load like this about 6 times a year for the river trips and carry 1 ski to oceanside every other weekend. i am over getting a truck that will just drain my cc on gas. the ranger with the 4 cyl gets about 22 or so avg. and a tundra v8 gets 16 so ill stick with it.

The Chevy Colorado I had, with an inline 5 automatic, got 20 miles city 25 miles highway. Towed great. I am just not a truck person so I sold it.

Nice little truck, Idoc! looks clean

We used 2 8x8 posts laid on either side of the wheel wells to get the ski's bondrails to clear the wheelwells. Works good. Was on a friend's 07 Chevy full size.

I have used my red long bedS10 pickup for ski pickups, towing and dropping a ski directly from the bed into the water. It's an ugly truck but it works for all those jobs that I can't/won't do with my other vehicles......

It's only a matter of time before toyota gives us a turbo diesel. That will be a great day. Big tires don't require tons more power you just need to have proper gears to run them. You can go from 30s to 35s with proper gearing and still have great acceleration. Its all about the gears.

I have an 01 Ram 1500 and its a great hauling rig. i only have on ski but from eyeballing it im sure i could fir my sxr and my c-rocks square in there quite easily. now gas mileage is a whole different subject. With my 5.9 V8 i average about 11mpg. id try to find a full size truck with a V6. Dodge, Chevy, and Ford all seem to have similar sized beds. A diesel is definately out of the question for your price range. and not to mention that the prices for diesel are going up like mad.

what you could do is get one of those 6 row vans and take out all the seats and fit like 4 3 or 4 skis in it. lol
