Good & Bad !

I was at a competition last weekend and we had the double up boat wakes. Well after a couple backys, it was time for some more, wow/ouch factor.. so I was going for a double barrel, or 1.5 would of been good too. Lets say I did not do so great.. Face plant and blew out ear drum.
Went to ER and they said see specialist. (Me thinking, Whatever dude) So next day, I go see My Doc. She is awesome... again, looks bad go see specialist... Ok now MAYBE I should go.. so I wait a couple days for it to get better, Its thursday, still ringing like a Son of AH. SO I go.. Specialist said I am sure Special ! :haha: No, He said I did a good job.. No biggie. the Ringing should go away and its healing good.

Bad news. I have 2 Growths in my ear by the canal. both are non-cancer but do need to be removed Soon ! So good thing I went, and even though ear poping sucks, it happened for a reason... If I dont get the Surgery and have the growths removed, I will be deaf in my left ear permanet :bigeyes: . Whoa ! That sucks.... Could be worse.. Thing is Doc said that my balance will most likely be affected... :frown: That is the worst Part !

Ok I am done Whining ! :banghead:

sorry to hear that Pete, get those lumps taken out and heal up quickly!

:flowers1:Hate to hear (no pun intended) that you need to have surgery. Wishing you a speedy recover...but don't push it. Do what the doc tells you to do so you don't have future problems. Keep us posted...

Can not stress helmet with ear protection enough even on flat water but I guess you know that so I will not preach anymore....or any less.

Hope you heal quickly did they say to stay out of the water?

That sucks. I did that about 10 years ago jumping in a pool. Felt like somebody shoved an ice pick in my ear. The ringing went away and it healed fairly quick. Good luck!!!

Yea I blew my ear drum attempting an El Rollo (barrel roll) and I had to go to the doc. 3 times and it would heal all the way up so they had to put some drops in it that would eat the top layer of skin away and promote the skin to heal over the hole. After almost 3 months the pain finally went away and was able to swim/ski again. Im wearing aer plugs now and a helmet.

Hope you dont have to get the drops.

Had the drops... Doc, said I could ride if I wanted to.... That is no big deal.. I have blown both eardrums before... No sweet.
Its the freakin growth Crap that bugs me out... and said balence crap would get worse.. that there sucks.. that means I got to get them Craps cut out ! :banghead:

Pete that sucks man! Hope you get better soon. On the other hand, you dont really want that ada motor just sitting around do you? I could gladly take it out for a spin here and there to keep it runnin fresh for you. lol

I feel ya man!!! I'm still nursing a blown ear drum. The growth thing sucks. I couldn't imagine being perm. deaf. It sucked not being able to hear out of one ear for a few weaks. "I hear the phone ringing but where is it at?" I almost have all the hearing back and wear plugs now.

I am going to schedule it for the Winter... Better that way... Unless growth gets worse and pushes on inner ear and Balence gets bad I will have to go sooner. Doc said do it in the next year Max... So I am guessing that is a safe time frame ! It should be all good. Just Freaky.. Thank you all on this thread.. I am just weirded out !

You'll bounch back Pete. I know its not the same, but they told my brother his balance would be messed up when he cut off his big tow in the lawn mower, but he hopped right out of bed and was normal

It is hell getting old. I am glad that it is something that can be fixed. Weird how the world works. Good luck and heal up quick.
