Getting Ready to reinforce and order through US Composites

Hey guys, I'd like to get your opinion on a couple things. I will start off saying I've read the TECH FAQ about reinforcing numerous times, but I would still like to get the opinions from those who have done this a couple times and have some experience.

I plan on doing my engine bay, nose, pole bracket, then installing some Matt Smith Style holds. After riding with him, I love them and the flexibility of riding positions. http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/97521-MattSmith-America-Ski-SJ-Build

My questions really go out to how much material do I need? I ride the soft about 20 percent and flat 80 percent. This summer has been nothing but surf 3+ days a week because I've been lucky enough to be located and working close to Oceanside, Ca. My Flatwater only ski is starting to take a beating and showing signs of it.

I plan on using 17oz biax, 2 layers and top it with 5.7 oz 2x2 twill for a little bling effect. Do you think this is a good choice? I see some using 12oz?

5 yards of 17 oz?
2 yards of 2x2 CF twill?
2 Gallons of resign 2:1 which will equate to 3 overall gallons. Being told I need this much, better to be safe then sorry? It's hot, need slow cure too.
Some pumps and misc materials.
Pour Foam... How much? What Density? Will be moving the exhaust tube down.
Then Just a quart of Microballons to fill bond lines? More?

Im working with someone who has laid carbon in the past and IMO has done great job. By no means an EXPERT but far better than the average JOE who has never done it before. I understand it is fragile and harder to work with.

Please chime in with anything, materials and quantity of materials needed, opinions... anything...

2 layers of 17oz seems a lil over kill. im no expert but ive used carbon, sglass, an 17oz biax. an 17oz biax is some thick stuff. takes alot of resin to fully wet it. your gonna add alot of weight with 2 layers

So one layer of 17oz bias along with the 5.7 oz CF? Im just kind of going off of what other mentioned they have done.

i went by how pancake pete said to do it. hes had a bunch of skis over the years an experiment on a bunch an he did a bunch of renforcements for people and he would go huge on flips an double barrel rolls. on the sides i believe it was a 6 oz layer of Sglass an 5.8 oz carbon on top of that. 3 layers of s-glass on the handle pole/nose layer over lapping each other. i did the inside of my gunwales with 17oz biax since i had tray open for a refoam an had it in my garage but i jus did one layer. i got a build thread if you search my recently started threads

1 later off biax is plenty on the sides. But do a couple around the nose and bracket area
