FX-1 Pole on a round nose superjet?

Will an FX-1 pole work on a round nose SuperJet? I now know that the superjet pole is pretty much the same except for the top metal piece being shorter and a little different shape. Also it looks to me that the fiberglass section it is a tad bit shorter than a normal SuperJet pole. My friend's superjet already has a UMI steering system on a stock pole and we were thinking about using a this FX-1 pole that is lying in my garage.

Yes It will work if you mod the steering cable
