friend hit a rock blew intake grate up through foot tray.

I took a friend out on the river and he went shallow and hit a rock.
Fractured one spline, and broke the other spline off the intake and sent it into the pump where it then blew up through the foot tray.

Looks like it somehow snapped the rod in half before sending it up through the hull.
Ski still operated, was able to pilot it back to the launch but he was getting sprayed with water from the opening in the tray.
