I was checking out that EME hood on Eric's ski. Looks like it will fit an SXR perfectly with a small nosepiece mod. A lot of the top of that ski was molded identical to an SXR. The EME hood that comes on his skis will definately NOT fit a superjet. It had no hood hooks or latches and the seal was on the hood. Just a 550 strap and a lifejacket clip. I am going to do the same setup on my SXR.

Eric is not selling hoods or hulls at this time. If you want one, you have to buy the whole package and get the whole ski.

I did however talk to him about selling a hull & hood and he said "IF" he was to ever sell them alone, he would ask around 9K.

Supposedly. New owner.

Has anyone seen any product out of there yet? How's the new boy doing?

From everyone's comments so far it looks like WCF is providing the best value, but I have to say that the Waterdawg is awfully tempting at that price. I'd love to hear some more experiences with that hood.

That's what I thought. Can't hurt to try though... See what he would want for one... Probably out of my price range... I guess we can take the EME off of this poll for sure....

If I had it to do over again, I'd mod a stocker.

In my opinion they're perfect for a surf boat. I sealed the front holes and opened up the rear holes on mine and it works awesome. I also put vents over the rear holes to prevent even more water from coming in and now my ski stays VERY dry.

I would be interested in lowering one though. I saw one on the boards a few weeks ago and it looked awesome. They did say it takes a ton of labor to do it the right way though.

Ive ran an Xft X7 hood for the last year. Its a great hood, this hood will stay on your ski no matter what you throw at it! The inner lip keeps it in place, and its a killer looking hood, especially with an XMW pole.

I ran my hood all year with a non locking and broken hoodlatch(it barely held closed), in the waves too and on double ups- no joke, this hood stayed on, it poped up and open a few times but never came off! I was just asking to sink my ski too! I plan on getting a carbon version next year.

My Wammer hood seems really soft where the pole shock pad mounts. I can see it cracking there. I like the way it looks with the Xmetal pole but I had to modify the nose a lot to make it look right.

i would love to see pics of the inside and hoodseal setup

The inner lip is bigger than this, but you get the idea.

If I remember right, a glass version (with nose and bracket) is $900, and the 6 lb carbon one is $1300.

This is one of the guys that convinced me to go with an XFT.
I'm soooooo glad I listened to him!:arms:
