Mario, its all personal preference. Stand where you normally like to ride and it feels comfortable, then look down at your feet, I like mine almost as far back as my feet will go but I'm 6 foot.

nice avator crab, going to install today i am going to install more to rear i am just a short little italian guy, slow day at work so i am going to install foot straps on x2 and tubbies on superjet, their is a thread going on in the general section with some nice ideas on how to strap them, i just want to make sure no water goes in hull

i put mine on the new hull in daytona. placement is your preference.
i trimmed turf and drilled small pilot holes where i wanted the straps, then filled the holes and surrounding area with epoxy. i used SS screws from a ACE down there think they where #8's. got them tight let it dry and they have held great ever since! very strong.

this pic is right after install, we were waiting for the epoxy to dry.

mount them here the top of your foot will be when your heel is about 2" forward of the taper on the back

i do reconmend lifting your turf and placing a couple of 1" strips underneath for a heel stop. in daytona i found that my feet would slide out quickly when vertical

Mario, I have mine on my X2 but I don't have pics handy. I do have some I can post up tonight.

I am using Dakine Pro Forms. I would epoxy a drilled/tapped aluminum block down. See where you would normally ride and then put the straps a little farther bback than that.

I wish I put mine back farther. I may move them back a few more inches. Who knows...

What type of straps though? My Dakines looked like they would eventually tear or break if the ends were bent up much. That is how they would have to be mounted to the pump cavity.

i bought the straps for 20 dollars on e bay and got for 4 of them i will post pictures they are used in windsurfing boards they are called maui sails they look pretty heavy duty

Anyone have pics of them installed like madscientist suggested, thru the pump area and the edge of the hull? Better to be safe than sorry, but if it looks weird, I'll just do the epoxy route..
