Can you clarify? I had it mounted 3 different ways in that vid.

i think he's talking about the first way...it was too much of the ski and not of the surrounding environment (since thats what the x proj is about right...seeing the environment).

2nd angle is better, still can be tilted up a bit more

3rd angle is best...although i'm assuming u put this on your chest? if you could use this angle on your helmet i think you would get the best angle for seeing the bars/ski and surroundings.

great idea though...as soon as my broken arm recovers i'd be more than happy to get some footage for you (next season).

regards,
woody

I vote for the videos you upload to my site using the instructions I just emailed to your gmail address. The setting of 2000 I said to use is twice the bits of Youtube HD. Water action needs lots of bits. Go nuts and use 3000 if you like. You are in control not you-nube.

I was able to train DJ and I had to teach him about FTP. I have Godaddy's unlimited hosting so let's use it!

I'd prefer not to, thanks. The actual video is not going to be delivered through a player, it will be downloadable so people can save it.

I might be wrong but, U-Tube in HQ seems marginally better. This video project is a good idea, hope it works out for you (and the camera survives "The Wide Spectrum Of Jet Skiing" ). Good luck.

The quality on the camera's .avi files is way way better than either of those, I just wanted to get something up so everyone can see it and check out the angles. I have a suction cup mount also and a bow eye mount that Kurt (snowxr) made on the way also for other options. I really like that chest mount too. I thought the pole would be in the way but I guess I keep the pole low enough normally that it's not an issue.

Jett, can you render to the H.264 codec and produce a .mov file instead of .wmv?

264 is a much better compression codec while still retaining excellent image quality...i switched and was able to cut my rendered file size in half while still retaining (and in some case improving) image quality...

We can call this section....9 and a half minutes in the life of Darin!

Great quality! And I watched the utube version. Third angle was the best although the other angles had their merits. (the hood tricks looked cool from that angle!) Also... was I seeing the tip of your nose in the first angle?? That felt like Being Darin!

The video part of the camera seems to handle the water better than the mic, which leads me to think about music. Maybe some of the musicians on the board would offer the use of a tune, royalty free, so whoever edits the final also has a library of music to play with.

Just a thought. This project is a great idea!

my friend is selling the new GoPro HD for $250+tax if you want to shoot better quality vids... fyi..
