HA HA HA Thats classic! My sister in law is such an over protective basket case, she shields her kids like the entire world is out to get them. It shows to as the poor kids lack of self confidence is blatantly obvious. Makes me and my wife sick, she doesn’t understand that her sheltering parenting style will do way more harm in the long run than if she just let them get a few bruises now and then
Hit the nail on the head. My girlfriends family is the exact same way. They are totally koo-koo for cocoa puffs! Its hard work, but shes worth it haha.
I think what Shanes is doing is awesome. We have a 13 year old kid in our group who is absolutely freaking awesome. He is more then capable to ride a ski and make good decisions.
My whole life, I was exposed to fun things like jet skiing and dirt bikes. Though, my dad made things very difficult for me. His lack of support and encouragement made me want to do the things I wanted to do even more. Everything I have, I had to work really hard for (while living under his roof). Everyday, he still gives me

about owning a jet ski. It takes a heavy tole mentally. Though, I keep fighting and as a result, its all I think about and I have a bad ass jet ski (coming soon).
I am a psychology major and I have learned a lot! I am by no means a psychologist or a therapist (obviously) but what I do know, is that what Shanes is doing is the best thing. He is allowing his daughter to explore her world without limitations. She is making decisions and growing. She will become an independent and still have a secure attachment with her father. Shanes is guiding her along the way to make sure that she is safe and having a good time. I wish Shanes was my dad!
