First Ride!!!

I took my first ride today. No backflips but I was able to stand up pretty easily. Now I just need to get better at carving turns. I think I ripped my arm out of the socket, :Banane01: :Banane01: :Banane01:

how was it... any problems?

Not really. I think I need to adjust the idle but other than that it was good. I swear it's faster than my Spx though. The lake was like glass so one time when I was on my knees I just pin'd it and held on. It might take some courage to stand going that fast  I must say that I have a new found respect for the guys on here who ride freestyle. I kept wrecking just doing the littlest things, but I don't think I stopped smiling the whole time, even when I re-injured my sholder from last summers stupidity on my Spx, haha.

I had my first ride this past weekend too! It was awesome, but very frustrating. I couldn't believe how physically exhausting it was! I wish I could practice everyday because I want to get good at this sport fast!

Yeah, I rode for 20 minutes and I was exhausted. I'm in the gym 5 days a week, but nothing could have prepared me for that. I was only frustrated that I had trouble turning right. When I snowboard I ride goofy footed so my right foot is always forward which also feels comfertible on the ski. I need to get used to putting my left foot forward to turn right:biggthumpup:

Yeah I was having more trouble turning right too, but I ride the ski regular footed. It's really weird because I skate goofy and snowboard regular.

On the turning, since you're just starting, the great racers switch feet for each turn, left turn = left foot forward, vice versa.

If you don't plan on ever racing, don't worry about it, just ride your normal stance and get used to it. I turn both directions with my left foot forward (and snowboard left foot forward).

I ride a skate board regular foot, snow board regular foot, and when I started riding jet ski's I started regular foot, but I now find myself riding goofy on my ski more and more. I feel 100% comfortable regular foot, and like 90% comfortable goofy foot on my ski.

I do everything goofy except jetski and slalom waterski....its weird i have my straps set up in surfstance regular foot on my ski yet i can barley ride a skateboard switch...it also weird seeing waves from a regular footers stance..when i surf i always see the wave from my backhand around here

I went out last night and it was better. I didn't get as tired and I was able to turn both directions a lot easier. I was trailing my parents in our boat and hittng there wake. They were probably going 15mph so it was easy to keep up. I'm feeling more and more comfortible every second on the ski. I felt pretty good about myself hitting wake for only having about an hour on the ski.

If you want to get together and ride sometime, let me know.
I've been at it for 10 years and can give you some pointers.

I only live about 25 miles from ya, and I'm usually at Dillon Lake.

Yeah, I probably only logged about an hour total this weekend because of the holiday. The lake was so packed and all the idiots were out. I was going two and three feet out of the water just trying to ride down the lake. I did manage to do a pretty good sub though.

I did 8s on my 550 to learn to turn. it was a big help. what ever you do don't let go.

This is my problem... I let go for fear of tearing my body apart. What is the purpose of trying to hold on? Just saving the ski from getting away, or saving yourself? Just wonderin'

I have gone about 5 times but yesterday was my first time going for an extended period of time (thanks to the ski working 100% the whole time) and today I can barely lift my arms and my shoulders hate me... I played 3 sports a year in HS and was very very active in college and I have never been so sore, I never knew this would be this much of a work out!

I was out today too. Got a lot of good practice in. I'm feelin pretty damn good on this ski now. I learned subs today, and I feel real comfortable hitting good size wake. Its so much more fun when your not constantly in the water! This week I'm getting new turf, and lifter wedges. I'm stoked! Deff gonna be sore tomorrow.

Yeah, I'm in the gym 5 days a week and the first time out was rough. It's probably because I'm 215lbs. and that's pretty topheavy for this thing, haha. I rode today and did a great sub. I went about chest deep :Banane01::arms::Banane01::arms: My sholder's still killing me and my right hamstring is pretty sore but It was worth it:biggthumpup:
