no i didnt put silicone on it, but it doesnt have any from teh factory, and it doesnt leak. i filled the hull with water and let it sit for a bit, no leaky leaks

did you ever think about why air would be coming through the housing? fill your hull up with water, spin and vibrate the shaft at a high rpm, and then pull a large vacuum from the pump side of the hull. its not the same as filling up the bilge with water on whiles its on a stand.
this may not be your problem, but just open your thinking rather than imediately rejecting an idea.

The shaft is fine itself, but I will put silicone around it to seal it up. I never said i wasnt going to try sealing it. It just didnt look like there was ever any silicone there before.

My advise to everyone is to get a manual. I remember when I was asking my local mechanic a bunch of questions he looked at me and said "Do you have a manual?" Best advise on jetskis Yet. It will save you alot of headaches later and you wont have to ask questions all the time.
