im getting a new SXR and going to try and negotiate a few parts for cost to go along with the ski what would be a handful of parts that would be good to get for cost and id see the biggest improvement on the boat

thanks

IMO a SXR absolutely needs a pipe, a head, and a aluminum charging flywheel or total loss to have some hit. 2k right there.

thanks but what does the "charging" mean i understand the purpose of a light weight flywheel but what is special about a charging flywheel

and any specific products/brands you guys recommended

Charging means it will retain the stock charging capabilitys that the ski has from the factory, unlike a MSD Total loss system which is a non charging system... Benifetts are less rotating mass = more hit off the bottom. AKA BRAP

Factory B-pipe is the pipe you want for freeride/freestyle and most go for a ADA girdled head. If you want to race go with the dry pipe.

You need to use the search function and read read read. For days and days and Days.

Welcome to the X.

you should defintetely get the umi spring tensioner....its like a 20 dollar piece and will cut the wieght of you pole in half!. only take 5min to install as well. other wise than that, if u dont wanna spend to much money just go wit some handling mods, bars, steering plate, hoodstraps, limiting rope.......

spring tensior is a good investment. Ride plate and an intake grate is nice to have. UMI 0 degree bars are nice. If your just gonna free ride that all you need for now. If you look into really doing freestlye and racing then i would mess with getting a pipe and head.

Are you sure a SXR is the ski you want? You may want to do a little research around here before you start dropping big dough on something thats not realy what you wanted.

I agree. I prefer the sxr, but I'm 6'7" 240 lbs. if ur like 5'7" 140 lbs, you could prob. do more with an sj. I personally think sj's are way too small and the 800 fits me like a glove.

That being said, first mods should be 0-degree bars, TBM plate and grate, hood straps. I never had a problem with my hood dislodging b4 i got straps, but my buddy had his hood blow off when he did a sub. good thing the sxr is damn near unsinkable...

I say...no need for a plate or grate unless your racing. They hook up great allready. unless you NEVER want it to slide out or spin.

Is it possible to lighten your flywheel by yourself?????
How is it done??? Yes remove mass from it ofcourse!!!
Does anyone know where to remove material and how much??????

well i decided to go with a scat intake grate and a factory b pipe im also looking at getting footholds and hood straps

any particular brand preferred for one over the other for SXRs (im 6'4" size 14 shoe if that makes a difference)

probably get a spring tensioner too

i might get 0 degree bars also ..just figured ill try the stock ones for now and see if i like them
