spark should be BLUE, fat, and consistant.

if its consistant, that likely isnt your problem.

it sounds almost as if your HIGH speed circuit in the carb is clogged up.

Ive got a spare carb, but you would have to re-jet it, and replace the needle and seat.

You are welcomed to try it if your carb is that bad?
I havent seen your pic to be honest.
Ill check it out and see if my opinon changes.

Thanks man. The spark is not fat at all...its very thin, but it is consistant.

I shot a lot of cleaner in the high speed passageway and it ran through freely, but I guess the salt could have built up.

That would be great if I could try your carb out and see if that's the problem before I go spend money on another. I have no clue how to rejet a carb, but I'm sure I can find a good thread to help me out.

Again, I posted the pics of what the carb looked like before I cleaned it out. It looked good when I was done though.

Thanks again man

what jets are in your carb right now?

Ill send you the carb, or you could send me yours and Id switch your needle-seat onto mine, and put your jets in mine and return it to you.

whatever is easier for you.

I could also try running your carb on my boat and see if it works?

whatever is easier for you.

if you cleaned those passages out it might be getting enoug fuel.

have you trimmed the plug wires back to verify the connectors are getting good wire?

I don't know what you mean by "what jets"...I'm still learning all this.

I havent trimed back the wire yet because I cant figure out how to get the boot off. It doesnt seem like it screws and if I pull on it, the wire will rip. I was going to ask about that anyway.

I can send you mine if you would like. Either way is easy for me. You are the one helping me out, so we can do whatever is eaiser for you.

I can not wait to get this thing up!

Got ya..that makes sense. I took that pic after i removed the needle and pivot (couldn move the seat because the screw was striped). I don't know what sizes the jets are. Is there any way to tell? I will get new ones if needed when I get everything figured out. I figure that the carb already has the correct jet settings since the carb was working great with the pipe when my 650 was in there.

if that seat is stripped, it MIGHT be bad.
a leaky needle/seat, will make the ski run terrible.

you need to be shopping for a used rebuildable ( or useable) carb.

needle/seat costs like $20, jets are$2 each.
rebuild kit is $50

a used, but WORKING carb is probably a good investment for you.

The stock plug boots have a piece of stiff wire that is coiled up to go over the spark plug end and a long piece extends back into the boot where it is bent 90 degrees and pierces the wire near the end. They can be a pain to take off. I would just buy a new set of NGK or MSD boots. The NGK screw on and the MSD must be crimped. Be sure and test the resistance between the wires before putting on the new ends. If you dont get a reading of around 4500 ohms then the wires are bad and need trimming. Worst case if you cant get a good reading, the wires will need to be replaced. I can get you info on a shop that can do it for a good price. Cheaper than buying a new coil.

I misstated the striping of the seat. The head of the screw that keeps the seat in was striped to were a screwdriver would just slip when I tried to take the screw out.

I guess I may just have to get a new/used carb then if I really want to find out the problem. I just didnt want to buy one if it wasn't a problem. The carb was fine untill my friend sunk it (obviously no leaks). But I may have to suck it up and buy one.

Thanks man. If you know a good shop that can do it for a fair price, please let me know. I'll have to wait untill I find out the problem before I do it, but I will for sure do it after I buy a carb (if I have to).

If anybody has a working carb for sale or knows anybody who has one, please let me know.

Thanks
