they work exactly the opposite of the SJ ones, the tab is on the other side. Still does the same thing.

How common are motor mount failures? I ride surf, jumping and riding. I am all for a little insurance, and the price isn't too bad. If 1Scray doesn't want them I would consider buying for $55.

I reckon have them in there for the surf better to buy keepers then having to buy mounts i have had mine in for a month and just pulled them out and i can see they are usefull seeing the marks on the keeper. There is a lot of pressure on those mounts in the surf.

I've busted two sets of motor mounts. Problem is it also takes out the driveshaft and couplers when the mounts break. A heavy stock pipe hanging off the side doesn't help much.

Do the keepers just protect forward/back movement or vertical as well?

Nothing against the keepers, but side movements, especially on the SXR make them pop up and over the plates. Some nose stabs do also, tail landings they are great. I tried developing a new kind, 1/2" thick but they limited travel too much. Best I have found is to add 1/16" washers under the keepers. I have one set of modified ones, but they are grind to fit. You can see where I added more in front of the tab. I added more AL to stop the motor from forward jumping. Then I gave up and just rode the thing!
