Freestyle Eating my words (leg rash guards)

Well I used to not get my legs rashed out (above your ankles where they rub the gunnels above holds) but now that I have pulled up my skirt and ride longer, my legs are getting pretty beat up. What kind of leg protection are you guys using? I used to use soccer shin pads, but that was to protect my shins when I came out of my holds, but that doesn't happen anymore, I just rash out the side of my shins on the gunnels.

Little help!
Thanks guys.

after a while you will toughen up and it wont hurt. you will also have some nice smooth legs but only right there! haha.

seriously my riding is sporadic at best and I have to keep breakin in my legs. after a few weeks its good and then I dont ride for a long time and it starts all over.

maybe try some under armor long pants? its like a lower body rashguard. I use it to make getting in and out of my wetsuit easy.

Alot of it is your footholds. I use to have 24/7 Footholds, they chewed my ankles up. In 2007 I swapped hulls and installed WCF footholds. They do not chew my ankles up any at all.....

LMAO! I knew you couldn't resist... Killin me dude. I don't know if I could do a suit though. It was 102 the other day at the lake.

I know, it gets to be pretty hot. Truth be told, when the water hits 65 and it's 90+ outside, I drop the wetsuit and go in shorts. But on those days I get killer turf burn on my lower legs.

Gdamn, 90+ water??? How do you handle that?

The warmest water I see all year is 70 degrees.
Ocean riding usually means 55-59.
Winter riding means 35-40 degrees.

i perfer it to be 85 water temp. 90+ and you just cant cool off. Im from WA state and i have never heard of 90+ degree lake water. I was used to 40-50 degree ocean and 60 degree lake water

I used to get that with my SJ, but when I switched to the lower sides of the superfreak tray it isn't an issue anymore. Tem added these at my request to the first 2 superfreaks he ever made. Mademan9 lowered sides on his his SJ during his build.

My tray sides are lowered, just not enough. Next winter dammit! I haven't ridden long enough to have a spare wetsuit. But the maxipads, fishnets, pantyhose, legwarmers etc seem to be the best and (as a bonus) most entertaining way for me to not only be a sexy bitch on the water, but also protect myself from tearing up my attractive chicken legs. LMAO!!!! Seriously a good thread and some of the best input ever. And the wife said she'd let me have some of her fishnets, so now I don't have to waste money on new ones. Woo stoked!!
