Dual or single scuppers?? That is the question.

I am starting my lightweight build and I am debating to run a single scupper or duals. I will also be running dual bilge pumps.. What are everyones thoughts?

You gotta be one crazy submariner to need 2 scuppers and 2 bilge pumps.
It's been my experience that one scupper and bilges get the ski dry in no time.
I would pay close attention to sealing the hood right.
An ounce of prevention...

Yea, I ran one scupper on my old ski and it seemed to do the job ok.. I know alot of A/M hulls have 2 so I figured I would ask.

The problem I see with the scupper(s) in the surf, is that when the boat gets away from you...it sinks...quick :thumbsdown:. Without the big scuppers the boat fills up with water slower. Perhaps the bilge pump(s) would be better. Where's the no scupper/bilge pump vote button?

I say 1, cause the tricks that are popular don't really require 2... you barely need one..

I say two are better than one! If you only got 2 minutes, than any water in your boat better get out ASAP. Has anybody ever heard of hydrolock!!
How about moves like the power 360, sub ( of course) , fountains, nose stabs, duck dives etc...

I guess we need to specify if it is for recreational freestyle/freeride or competitions.

Dual pumps work fine for me, but I've got time to wait between tricks.

Dual if dedicated competition flatwater/competition boat

Single if used for flatwater & freeride or surf

None if used for surf only (my personal opinion) seal everything tight, and run 2 pumps.

I think if you decide to go dual, scrap the 2 bilges, you're adding a bit of weight (marginal) and with 2 scupper in the boat the pumps will do nothing but get out the 1/2" of water the scupper doesn't.

1 scupper and 1 auto bilge...so if it gets away it will do it for ya

or 2 scuppers and 1 auto bilge...

I say it depends on if your competing or not. If your competing I would go with 2 if your just rec riding I would go with 1

i was thinking about, when my foam is out, to use a smaller diameter pvc pipe and use a versi plug on each side.
