Do people run without pole springs

Seems like the super stiff pole is the way everyone is going these days. I'm not a huge fan of it but once inverted, the stiff pole offers something to keep you tucked instead of the spring pulling you out of a tuck. I think I could used to it if it'll take me to that next level. That said though... Is there any point to running a pole spring or do you just crank the bolt down really tight and run springless?

I am running springless and have it as tight as I can go with a stock bracket. It still moves very easy, and I don't miss the spring.

Springless is the only way for me to learn to keep tucked for being inverted. Once you get used to it there is no going back. It sucks the first few rides though, really sucks, but I will never go back. I made a SS tube to keep from cracking the mount, with a 3/16ss washer on each side. It goes over the bolt

You don't want to just crank the bolt down on an oem bracket, the cast aluminum doesn't like bending. If you want a stiff pole the 2 bolt setup is the way to go.

Excellent point. I wasn't really planning on cranking down my stock bracket but was just curious.

I am also one of those that needs the spring. I bought a stock SN with worn out springs, I mean I might as well taken it out. I rode a couple of months like that and I developed pain on my elbow from having to lift that turd.
I did a swap with a RN pole and got a new Blowsion spring......Aaaaah! like day and night......and the pain was gone.

blowsion spring all the way... i tried running a tight bolt with a spring and didn't like it.

i couldn't imagine running no spring. the stock spring killed my back. it would shorten my ride time a lot because i would be miserable. weightless pole FTW

you can take a oem RN spring and heat it and bend it for pole release..worked well on the elbow and back situation, if you wish to train arial tricks use 2 limiting ropes...pulls the pole down ...

I actually tried shortening the limiting strap once. It feels really awkward but you get used to it in about 5-10 minutes. Then it takes the rest of the day to get comfortable with the rope at it's normal length again. I'm going to skip on doing that again.

24/7 bracket with a blowsion spring for me. I have to keep the bolt really tight just to keep the pole from levitating from the spring.

I have a spring, but my pole is s tight that it is useless.

By putting it tight, it would wear out the bushings and the pole would become loose again. Eventually I noticed the ears on the pole bracket flexing. I bought shims from McMaster and put them in there. I think they are a 3 thousandths or so thick each. They are a bit tough to fit in, but I don't like seeing the aluminum flexed.
