Do Kawi Standups waterlog like SJ's?

Just got done defoaming the 95 superjet and I am wondering if my 95 sxi is going to need it too:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Well the superjet had a cracked ridetray so that was definately the leak! The Kawi seems water tight, but just wondering if one manufacture is more prone to waterlogging than another.

They do waterlog, just not typically. SJ's tend to leak around seams and we hear about it more because of the beatings we put them through. But Kawis also can leak under tray, at bulkhead, or if rear trim tabs had been installed, but I don't think it is as frequent.

The foam is the same.

Oh hell yes they waterlog.

Kawi does the same stupid crap that Yami does. They dont plug the holes in the bulkhead where they fill it with foam.

My the foam in my SXI Pro was so waterlogged that the foam had started to break down. The foam in the chines was like cold oatmeal.

Dont worry though. When you are done re-foaming the boat will still be very heavy.

SXRs will not waterlog, the foam used in them is EPP (Expanded polypropelene) definately a waterproof foam, the pieces are molded then just put in when the ski is glued together.

SXRs don't have a sealed rear end, the stock setup is a hole in the firewall which allows water to flow into the rear of the hull, which has a plug.

But, yeah previous models as already mentioned will probably waterlog.
