Has anyone custom made these to protect their ski from partial rolls? Blowsion has one that does look pretty cool but I was thinking about laying up some spare c/k that matches my ski. Are these applied with just rivets or should I apply a little resin and deal with it never coming off again when I need to paint, etc?

My next hull will be reinforced from the inside :banghead:

Can you give us a link? I don't really know what you are talking about.

some thick re-inforcement on the inside is 100% the best way to deal with under rotated rolls. The square nose I've been riding the past couple weeks is an ugly bastard....but very functional. I have SLAMMED this thing, and it's still in one piece.

mine is cracked in the same place, did not find it until after I painted ski...... hard to see, must have done it last time I rode it in Daytona or last season, then after it hit the water last month for the first time, the crack started to show really bad.........

ive never heard of it breaking that far back from a barrel roll.
I can throw some ugly rolls. And I just picked up an old 96 that has never seen the surf before and it is cracked in that general area (wraps to the exhaust hole actually). That plus I was talking to BK today and it's got me thinking I better go ahead and do something...

romack, thanks I'll pm geek. jetskier79, I ain't opening this particular ski back up until I have to or until I have more downtime!

You can get defletor pannels from Paul also. I got one from him cause the SJ has major crack/break that ran down the side under the bond line. I was kind of skeptical when I got it. But I put it on just like he told me to and I'm really happy with it.

Give him a call...732-505-8115

Really? Do Paul's run the entire bond line? Mine is starting to crack at the bond line (both sides) front just in front of the hood, to about the middle of the hood... a good 12" of cracking.

Thanks for the tips. I definitely could buy stock in Magoo's

So epoxy and rivets then? It'll just suck IF I decide to paint the hull at some point. Pics would be great...

I will get some pics the next time I work on the ski...
But I epoxied it on with (404?) filler or what ever filler he told me to use...the one that has the highest strength rating. If you do that and use some clamps to hold it while it is curing it should be ok. I am also going to lay a strip of glass over the leading edge just for S and G's....
