You know....I am not sure if it was running and it happened, or if it was from trying to start it. I know I had a hell of a time trying to start it. Eventually it did turn over. :lightning: :banghead: I shoulda known better - but it was probably too late at that point, anyways.
As for shorter stroke and lower compression - that's kinda how I found out about this. I did a little impromptu compression check tonight - somehow I found the ski to run somewhat sluggish the second half of yesterday. :arms: (Seriously...it ran almost great after the event!)
I found 150 on one jug, which worried me. (Normal...170). I found 120 on the other.
Okay, tear down time. I am getting good at this. :Banane01:
The 150 compression was due to a small piece of bottom case - knocked loose by the crank web on the other side - getting sucked into that bore. Pried it out of the piston. The other side was lower...well, because I have an anti-stroker now! :bs2:
The good news is that Phill has a crank I can use for a while. Also, I think I can get a good deal on a fairly new one from a board member.
Additionally, the cylinder just needs a hone and rings.
Hey Saki....are those 62T cases I see in that pic? :sneaky:
