Cracked Cylinder

I noticed it today while I was flushing it water was leaking from the crack. Its a GroupK big bore 61x sleeved cylinder. Can I just get a good used cylinder and press the old sleeves in? What would cause it to crack? I dont have a head mounted pipe.

You can press the old sleeves in, but you need to portmatch them (essentially duplicate GroupKs porting work)

you need the girdled head because its already cracked once.

how many cylinders can you sleeve and report to match for the $325 cost of an ADA girdled head?

If it's a big bore 61x you won't be able to install sleeves in another cylinder without machine work.

They need to be bored and counter-bored with the proper interference fit, then ported to match.

Big bore sleeves are a different diameter.

If he has a 780cc engine the piston size would be 85.5mm making the sleeves only 2.25mm thick and the bottom skirts would be completely machined away.

I missed the 85.5mm pistons. Where'd you see that?

It says 780cc big bore on his sig,he just figured the piston size off of that.My book says the same 85.5

I have a cyl with a crack in it right now as well....stock bore, stock head everthing....just a Bpipe
