The old flats are no more. They have been leveled. But up the hill on west 6th and west 9th are the spot now.

About 1 mile from the beach.

Aww that's too bad. Hopefully the new is as good as the old cause the flats rocked! How many usually show up for this ride (just a guesstimate)?

We had about 30 skis last year and the weather was insane. We are probably going to hit the Garage Bar again or Shooters if I can get us up on the upper deck.

I am guessing about 40-45 skis this year and the weather will probably be much better. (waves will probably be smaller too)

Sweet... I'm in assuming gas isn't over the fo dolla range:bigeyes:

Edit: I was told the water quality is horrible there is there any truth to it?

The water quality depends on Thunderstorms. A couple big storms will make the local rivers wash a bunch of sticks and crap in the lake.

Usually around late July the water quality is VERY good. (as long as there isn't a huge storm right before the ride).

I'm pretty excited, it will be our first trip as a family to a freeride event. I'll be pimping the minivan with the trailer behind it, so be prepared for groupies. Oh, and 3 rugrats under 6 will be all over the beach, so watch where you step!

It was worth it coming up just for Saturday, though I really wish it would have been Sunday now.

In case anyone doesn't know, we got up at 5:30, tossed the 3 kids in the van and were on the road at 6:20am.

We got there around 12:30 or so, but due to hiking across the beach with 3 kids and a loaded wagon, then my start button crapping out on the ramp, I didn't get start riding until around 2.

I was out of the water by 5 after a full tank of riding, and we got back on the road, stopped for dinner with jetskee (Chad) and his family, then made it home at 1:30am and tossed everyone back in bed.

Wow, but it was fun.

BTW, 23mpg in the van towing the trailer with a/c running is nice!

Yeah, you're crazy.:drive:

I considered calling you about 10:00pm and letting you know that we
were home, laying in bed, but then I thought that might be just
a BIT too mean.....
