Thanks.

A long time ago I had purchased some US composites Thin Epoxy Resin, with medium (3:1) hardener. Wish I would have had Fast hardener, but needed to use this stuff up.

On top of the carbon I used FiberGlass Hawaii brand Aluzine Clear Coat Epoxy resin.

get it wet yet??

nope but almost done... all i have to do is

fuel lines
wire bilge
put on chin pad and nose piece
ride plate and intake grate

then she's done... maybe this weekend, but the water quality is gonna be terrible.

The new steering cable is so nice. That steering slides so easily. Night and day difference.

So I have sort of finished the ski. Rode it for the first time today at the local harbor behind the break wall for like 1/2 hour. The tubbies felt great. They rode very very differently than the 3 other skis with tubbies that I have ridden. It felt like my ski, but better rather than the ski feeling totally foreign. Overall two thumbs up.

I am having some major tinging/vibration noise coming from what i believe is the chamber. link to the thread discussing this.

My aluzine on one side of the ski didn't hold up. When doing the first side (pipe side) the final coat came out cloudy/hazzy on most of the side. When I rode it today and got that side wet, it looks horrible. The whole side turned a milky white. If you rub the water off it shines up again. The second side (carb side, which just so happens to be the side you can see only a little tiny bit of) looks great. So shinny and looks perfect, just how it should. The only difference in my application method between the two sides was that I used a heat lamp. And honestly the ski got pretty dang hot. I kinda forgot I left the light on and came out like an hour later to turn it off.

So now I don't know what I'm gonna do about that either. Looks like its gonna get pulled apart again to fix/find the vib and fix that cloudy carbon.

I just replaced the midshaft with a nice minty one with perfect splines and buttery bearings.

I replaced my first drive shaft on a pump also. Used a 4x4 and a mini sledge hammer. It was interesting but not hard. Am riding a skat swirl small hub 13/18 for the time being until I get my new prop. Probably going to try the Impros Hooker. I have already sent my 13/16 cutback concord to Impros, now just gonna see how much they'll give me on a trade in to see if I'll get the Hooker or repair and repitch mine to 13/15.

I aligned my whole drive line properly for once and it is going to be so nice riding it.

Been working on my ski for about 10 hours today. Today bluegtate and I

Installed and aligned the pump
Installed ride plate
Rebuild carb
Loosen two frozen head pipe screws
Re route and run new cooling line, incorporating a jetworks flow valve
Install new reeds
Install and align mid shaft and engine
Re assembled everything else on the ski... ready to hit the water.

Was going to try a new jetting configuration but don't have the proper n&s so I'll order that on Tuesday.

All in all I am exhausted... Last night bluegtate and turfed his ski (finished about midnight) and it came out killer, then worked on mine all day... Best turf job that we have done yet.

Will update with pics soon.

replaced the ratchet and went with wamilton hood straps. i drilled my female hood receptacle crooked, but I'll fixed that.

Why change to bungee's, my ratchet system I got from EJ is freekin so solid I don't have to worry dropping it wrong off a big stab. And I have been doing that a lot unfortunatly....

Nice biuld. Love to ride sometime. I live in Redondo Beach. I throw the skis off the dock at Kings Harbor if anyone is interested. I'd also like to cruz up to Pismo or county line some time. PM if anyone is interested.
