Your right... work is never done when you keep breaking things... but I'm pretty close to having almost everything you can without breaking into the engine...

#1 tubbies
#2 footstrapS!
#3 reinforcment
#4 Keeny Keepers
#5 When I reinforce this winter, I'll add a true one-way instead of the 1 inch dump tube.
#6 Put on the pump cone that has been on shelf for like 3 months.
#7 .....

So my stop circuit on my S/S switch went bad this morning... Just rode yesterday and it was fine... oh well. This morning I rode with the idle turned all the way down on my carb. Got home and changed it out with the one from my square nose, so I'll be figuring out what to do for the square here soon.

While I was working I did a couple other things.

My steering was binding up when I turned all the way to the right with the x-metal steering plate. When I put the pole on last week I couldn't figure out what it was and decided I would figure it out later so I could ride. Today I figured out that the steering nozzle was hitting the reduction nozzle. So i pulled it off and ground down the inner edge just so that it would clear.

And, as you can also see in the pictures, I performed LBE's #1 simple mod. I re-located the steering ball thingy inward to gain a little extra throw. I didn't have to use a tap, I just drilled a hole a little bit smaller than the diameter of the bolt, and just used the bolt/ball to tap the new threads. Pretty simple.

While I was down there, I put on the stubby pump cone that has been sitting on the shelf for months now. Got a good look at the leading edge of my prop and it'll need to be sent out this winter to get cleaned up.

I rode with the pump cone for the first time yesterday... I think I defiantly felt a difference. Felt like there was a little bit more bottom end thrust.

I kinda forgot that I did the the steering pivot mod, and wasn't really paying attention to see if I felt a difference or not... oh well, next time.

That ski dolly is brilliant! I wouldn't have thought to make a shop dolly out of a scissors stand. That makes the dolly take up so much less room and would save a load of $$.

ya, lots of guys on here have done it... yamasaki has a pic of his two skis that gave me the idea...

I got the stand for free when my buddy and I bought a ski to part out... had a bunch of extra lumber at the house, so all I had to buy were the casters and some long wood screws

Question....When you had your stock pole on with the WDK hood was that as far down as the pole would set? It really seems to stick up a long ways. I am thinking about ordering that hood and just running my stock shortened pole for a while but I don't want to look any more dorky than I normally do.

in the pictures on the first page of the thread you can see the stock pole sits up pretty high off the hood... but its b/c I have about a 4.5" pad on the pole so it would sit a little higher. The stock pole doesn't look too bad... but an aftermarket one sure does look better.
