Chin pad comparison FOR STOCK POLES!!!!!

. WD also seems like a great deal too, but I've never seen one myself. It seems like you cant go wrong with a CG one for $90:bigeyes:.

I like Chuck but his chin pad will crack if you even sit on it I think and it is not made at all for a stock pole. A stock pole would have to be severely altered to make it fit. The 24-7 is a beauty but it only utilizes 2 of the 3 stock mounting tabs. Then you are supposed to drive a screw down thru the front of it in to the pole.

That would be fine if WD did not exist, but he does. And for $149 it is by far the best answer for a stock pole hands down that I know of.

unnecessary..it hold solid as a rock with just the mounting tabs...the tabs themselves are about 1/3" thick.......

ive never held a WD pad, but I cannot imagine anything better than the 24/7............

I've never seen one but with only the 2 tabs holding it on how can it be the best .
If it lifts up a tiny bit and water catches it .Bye bye chinpad

Yeah I thought the mounting tabs would be sufficient also. I didn't know you were supposed to drive a screw down throught the pad into the pole.:dunno:

It definitely seems like it would be stong enough without the tabs. I still haven't done a hude sub with it yet though.

Since the very first decent sub I did destroyed my stock pad I would think the front is most critical.

I would have no problem running a screw through a new pad and my pole (right now I have duct tape holding down the front of my pad so aesthetics isn't an issue), WD just gives another option.

it is necessary to put the screw in. it will break if you dont

I, as well as royal flush will challenge that..........going on 3+ years with this pole/pad combo....

the pad is solid as a freaking ROCK.......and does not move....there is also no lip, the pad is recessed into the pole...

i dont think any other pole is designed this way....

Hey Dok I think they're talking about using the pad with a stock pole. You are using the pad with the SR71 pole so it sits flush with the edge of the pole so you don't need that extra screw.

Im using my 24-7 pad with a stock pole so the edge/lip of it is exposed. I'm guessing on a huge sub that it would catch water and possibly rip off.

hey Scott, your compairison with that pole does not really work for the rest of the peeps with stock poles or AC Poles......... You need the screw in the front.

Bringing this one back from the dead.

Just installed my Waterdawg chin pad today.
Fit my RN pole like a glove.

The thing is bullet proof.

I didn't take any pictures but will try to get some tomorrow.

First thing I did was the "stress test" and stood on the thing. It didn't even budge with me bouncing on it.
