Check Out This Factory Pipe Chamber

I bought this pipe a few weeks ago sight unseen and it was supposed to be a TNT chamber. I thought I was getting a bargain for $500.00. It looks like someone modified a Blaster mod chamber to look like a TNT. It's a lot shorter and it curves back a little more than the Blaster chamber. It's also missing the top mount.

I tried it out yesterday with a 84.5mm 62T 760 cylinder, MSD enhancer, 35cc domes, and dual taperbored 38mm carbs. I was very impressed. It has lots of low end and it seems like it really wants to rev out. I am going to do a swap with a regular Blaster mod chamber in a couple of weeks and see what the difference is.

I was disappointed when I opened the box and found out it wasn't a TNT, however it seems to work well and it is nice and shiny.

Yeah, that's definitely a Blaster mod pipe. You should get some of your money back. Last I checked that chamber sold new for under $200. Yours has been cut and welded, but if they said it's a TNT they were clearly lying to you.

I paid $500.00 for the complete pipe and it did come with the 760 manifold that I needed. If I just got the chamber for $500.00 I would be really mad.

I've got the same pipe I believe. Except mine's painted white and when the re-welded the end of the chamber on they didn't angle it in closer to the engine like yours and they left the top bracket on. I had to hammer dents into it in order to clear the gas tank and the side of the hull. Performance wise it's suppose to work similar to the TNT but so far I havn't been able to get mine to perform anywhere near as good as my factory dry pipe. I run a mildly ported 760. I don't think that's a bad deal at all. It looks really good polished like that.

You mean this is not the real precious

You got a good deal, too bad they sold it to you under pretenses.

When you get the original "mod" pipe to try out, fill both chambers with water and measure how many ounces the shiny shorter one is.

ps. Yeah, I'm diggin' the polished SS look....going to do that to mine soon.

That is sweet!:woot: I have a mod chamber that I would like to cut down. Let us know what the volume is before you bolt it up.

Here is a picture of both of them together. I tried the Blaster mod chamber this weekend but I think the short one is better. There isn't that much of a difference but I think I have better top end with the short one.

GREAT PICTURES! (I love examples by pictures)

It looks like they flipped the cut end too.

As for better top end, that is where you should see the diff. Just like the SJ "mod" vs. "limited" chamber...the shorter "mod" SJ chamber has better top end while the longer (bigger) "limited" chamber offers more bottom end.

Thanks for the comparison pics! I recently bought a mod chamber and can't wait to cut it down. Maybe it will be good enough to be "semi-precious"

so far i have had to pound the ever living poop out of a blaster mod to fit in a sj hull, even with out the fuel tank in. is that normal?
