I was going to mention the Harbor Freight model myself. You might have to get some stronger bolts, but the included ones will prolly work fine for a while. I am glad we have a harbor freight store here, I seem to always find something I can use from there. I know it is mostly all cheapo Chinese stuff, but for a hack like me it is usually good enough for no more than I use it.

I live close to one of the main Harbor Freight stores that is the west cost distributor. Can find almost anything there.

I use the harmonic balancer puller .
Loosen the nut on the flywheel and drill a small indentation in the center of it to put the tip of the puller shaft against ,the little point fits into the little indent you just made .
Put the nut back on about halfway in and than I use an air wrench at home (a regular wratchet works fine too ) too pull the flywheel until it hits the bolt .
You don't have to worry about anything getting screwed up by going through the flywheel

I also had that fear, but to date (after easily pulling off more than 20 flywheels) I have only destroyed the washers. In fact, I still curl Grade 8 hardened washers. The rotating tip is also a bit worn, bu tit is still usable. Not bad for $10.00.
