Super Jet Chasing top end issue - Crank Seal or Exhaust Restriction - see pics

Ski will snap to high rpm, but will not stay - if you hold the throttle open it sounds like it is hitting rev limiter, which has been bypassed.
I have a new JSS coil, and have swapped out every other part in the eBox and it is the same.
I was thinking stator but it looks really good - looking for ideas.

Crank seal leak?

restriction at elbow from FPP waterbox to long straight exhaust hose?

pull the stator and look at the seal, your two screws away...


the exhaust is fine, that wont hurt anything

I did pull the stator, nothing obvious on the seal besides the oil visible in the pic,

Don't even waste your time doing a leak down test.

I've had skis with oem seals that leak like that and run fine... just sayin...

did you swap in a known good cdi?

Yes, swapped cdi and every other electrical component except the jss coil and the stator. Timing mark was dead center.
New fuel filter, cleaned internal filter, popoff at 18. Plugs are wet/black even after leaning high and low screws, last season were good where they were.

Looks like crank seal is going. Had similar issue a while back but mine looked MUCH worse. Maybe u caught it earlier then I did.

Do a leak down test, I'm pretty sure it will confirm our suspicions.
