Other Building my own Batterie

Hi
After 2 broken Ballistic, i open one, and look inside.
Very poor Quality!
The Cellst are ok, but the work on them suxx.
Case is not waterproof, Cells connection is :):):):) too.

I try to build a new Case, thats nearly the same then ballistic. But i build a case that i can open so change broken cells, what can happen sometimes.
Just started today with some work.
50 % done

Maybe somebody got some good ideas how to seal the 3 parts.
I bought original A123 cells, and iam going to solder them tomorrow

That UHMWU is not cheap or light. The only way these batteries make any sense is if they are under a few pounds. Anything more than that and you are right back to a 9lb deka for $60.

I will Mill it, and lighten it. Its just Out of the Maschine.
It will be a Little Bit more then a ballistic.
It makes Sence, Cause its alot stronger, and it can be chargered faster...

just read a very interesting article on graphene becoming the future of batteries. They can hold 10 times the capacity, charge 10 times faster, and transfer energy much faster. Build one for motor sports and make millions. Then buy me an XFS as a thank you for the idea lol

Are you aware that ballastic makes a special battery now just for our skis. Zack at PHP can get them. It is a totally different construction than the old one :)

Making your own battery? Wow! Is that really necessary? I'm not a flat water guy so forgive my ignorance, and I'm not hate'n here either, It just seems like I've seen a disproportionate amount of threads dedicated to reducing Battery weight. Is having a few extra pounds in the currently available batteries the one thing keeping most of you flat water riders from pulling that backy? I know batteries are heavy but with today's high HP motors it just seems to me that a little extra battery weight wouldn't be that big a deal. BTW 10 points for the MacGyver factor though, your home made battery looks bad a$$!

Hi
Its Not the weight...
I run TL and like to Charge the Batterie in a Short Time...
And with pfp u dont have that much Place for the battery, so it has a Little Bit of everything

Lighter, smaller, fast Charge.

Thats all

Interesting.... I was in a batteries plus not long ago and noticed they had a work bench in a side room for building custom batteries . In a short conversation with some lite calculation he seemed to think he could build a comparable battery for about 150. As far as water proof , he said that would be no problem. Here's the crazy part .... You can make these in shapes other than square this would be helpful in these smaller hulls.

We are a very innovative group why keep buying inferior batteries . I would love a light battery comparable to a jetworks KB 35.

Just like I said in the other thread. Batteries plus can build that. They also use a spot welder and make a higher quality pack other than soldering everywhere.

See folks , I don't pee on your leg and tell you its rain .....
Zach ... the guy I talked to said something about a spot wielder instead of solder as well. He seemed very knowledgeable , but looked like he might still ware Star Wars pj's and live in his mothers basement. Who's gonna be the guinea pig ... these batteries can burn your ski / house down if built or charged incorrectly. I'm gonna look into as I'm short a battery . Speaking of short , thats why I need one . FYI if you lay a battery down on a stainless steal table top down it will drastically shorten your batteries life .... long story.

One other thing , What type of battery are these...... Li-ion , LiFePO , Li eieio .
