budget freestyle engine

everyone always talks of the improved hit off idle with the x cyl, this is ABSOLUTELY true.....but most of the time this is mentioned with respect to freeSTYLE....

a 760 for freeRIDE would probably be pretty nice......but definatly will lose a little bit off idle...

Actually were arguing the cases, x vs. t, and the cylinder. On the cylinder the x will hit lower, but this is not a 1000rpm difference. Nothing you would even notice.
He still thinks x cases are the best.

I'd say more than 1000 rpm difference. It is noticable

More than 1000 rpms huh. I wouldn't say its that much.
Well, then I have this really good, clean flatwater freestyle 61x/61x 701 done by Keith Head for sale. Hits super low and is great for freestyle. I don't know the difference........

Oh and 2nd nature, your inbox is full. I want 1500 for the engine complete -electrics. Thats head, cylinders, cases, reeds, intake, carb, bedplates. Ready to run.

-I'm going to duck and run.- There are many good combos. Pipe, prop, timing, compression as well a porting (61x/62t cylinders) all make a difference in the hit of an engine. I myself would be happy with a 760 on t cases with dual 44's. Better than that if I had enough money would be big bore cylinders on the same bottom end. If $$$ was a flowin, stroker lamey. But thats too much cash for this build.

Yeah, like when your bendix explodes at the boat ramp. Or when you strip a bolt putting your engine back together at 2 in the morning, just 4 hours before your supposed to go ride. Or better yet: when a big wave is breaking and your sitting there mashing the green button trying to spark some life into your swamped boat to get out of its way.
Just give me anything that will run!

If you are a surf ride then low end power should not be as much of a concern. If you were to do porting on any cylinder (61x, 62T ect) with a head, pipe, lightened flywheel, msd cdi and properly tuned you should be set. I thought you were a flatwater guy. Just work with what you got, just build it to be a smooth predictable/reliable motor.

cases buddy,

All you want is a 96+ engine with the mods i listed in my first post.

That will be spot on for what you want and wont kill the budget.

There will be a million people chucking more and more ideas at you but if it was my OWN money then thats what id buy.

Ive spent $$$$'s on mods mate, some of which i wish i hadnt done, some which got removed and some that didnt.

If i had to do it all again and wanted a good reliable, snappy engine that wasnt goin to cost the earth thats what id buy.

I the real scheme of things thats the best bang for buck youre gonna get bar none
