Broken Xmetal handlepole

I was riding yesterday and had to ditch the ski. When it came down it must have slammed into the hood pretty hard cause it snapped the pole at the top near the steering bracket.

Not sure if this will work cause it's aluminum but I'm wondering if welding it and then reinforcing it with some steel plates will hold or should I just save my money and order a new one.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

PS. If anyone has a used -2 Xmetal pole (for superjet) that they are willing to sell, please let me know.

If you're takling about welding steel plates to the aluminum, this won't work but in any case the thing to do with something like this is to talk to the manufacturer, I'm sure X Metal will sort you out.
Chris.

Thanks guys. To clarify. I was going to see if a welding shop could first weld the pole and then I would bolt the plates to help reinforce it.

I'll give them a call tomorrow when they're open.

Thanks again.

The aluminum can be welded up, if that was your plan originally to have it done then ask them at the machine shop if they can weld on some additional aluminum for reinforcement. If it was a section of the tubing that broke, then I would see if they can get a larger section of tubing to either slip over the original and weld it on after they fix the first break. Or have the larger tubing cut down the middle looking like "U" shapes and weld those halves underneath the original tubing after welding the broken area for more support. It would look kinda cool too seeing a double layered section of tubing.

Update.

Those guys at Xscream are great. Talked to Chad this morning, Pat wasn't in and they are willing to swap out the pole at no charge once I send it in.

Instead of swapping it, I opted to upgrade to their adjustable pole and just take a credit on the broken pole.

Everything worked out great. They are shipping the new pole today and I'm shipping mine off to them.

Thanks everyone for the advise and I highly recommend Xscream considering how much they back there products.

same place where most break. Up top where the steering plate meets the main body. That is the weak point.

Just about every pole that I have read about or heard about breaks in the same spot. Most from throwing away the ski and the pols hitting the hood and the momentum continues.

Great thing, Pat always warranties them.
