Custom/Hybrid BOB or Superfreak?????

my 2cents. i have ridden both b.o.b.s (and own a gen 1) its a fun ski in flat water when ur board. if you want to try and travel any distance its a pain in the ass. i ride mine pretty much surf only. its fun but a hell of a work out.(if your a fat old guy anyway) the gen 2 is better but still hard to ride. it does what is bulit to do back flip. its a cheap hull and a great deal to break into the aftermarket hull world.

we have a glass superfreak on the stand ready for the next build i will get back to ya when i get to ride it.

You no can read da engrish good? Lol

I think the point was... This debate is between the BOB and the superfreak. He's obviously narrowed down his choices between those two. If he wanted info on the other hulls, he would've asked "what's the best aftermarket hull".

There are lots of AM hulls out there....you have to ride them to know what you like.

Watercraft Factory Vision
Rickter
Superfreak
BOB
Trinity (EVO and MATRIX)
Waterdawg

alot of people prefer a Superjet or SXR hull over any aftermarket.

Nobody prefers an SXR hull over aftermarket, lets be honest.

Considering the vision is a brand new hull and that almost nobody has ridden 1, I was just throwing another option out there

I know how a BOB gen 1 behaves at speed, can you actually run some buoyes on a Freak ?

Yes you can. I come from a racing background. I can turn my -1.25 carbon freak pretty well. Is it going to carve a bouy like a sxr....No....but I think the biggest reason it won't is weight. This hull loves to turn but it would need a little more weight to really stick hard on a bouy course. It has the potential to be an outstanding bouy course boat, but I like mine just the way it is. It still turns well but is incredibly light and fun at the same time. Every single person that has ridden my ski has stepped off it with a huge grin on their face.

If I would building a lake boat I would go -4.3 freak all day long. I went a little longer because I ride a fair amount of surf when I can.

superfreak. i'm 260lbs. had a -4.3 and it was faster topend then my octane. yet could still backflip...... the new freak is as stable as my octane to. doesn't make any sense.
