Same technique....just throw harder, and don't lean forward.

footstraps are required, I don't suggest trying without them unless you want a face full of blaster hood.

There is a vid posted by daylite of the oside comps with blaster rolls that look like there are no straps. I put straps on mine anyway.

saki, nice vid :headbang: ! derm tried throwing three or four rolls on his b1 w/o straps and pretty much just flew off it although his ski completed two rolls... He hasn't "officially" tried since he got some straps.

All the skis at the contest had straps. I do think it's POSSIBLE to roll without straps....I just don't recommend it. People will tell you footholds are a saftey issue when trying to roll a standup. It's just not safe to try without them. The same is true for a blaster.

the ski is that vid is the superjet hull i sold to KMAC .. while my green boat was getting built.. video was shot sometime in 2004 ???

slut might remember the exact date.. i had a running bet that day with everyone on the beach that if i didnt throw a backflip that day, well, i'd rather not say.. :haha:

let's just say everyone was REALLLY disappointed ... the last session of the day... the last ride..... i said.. ok ONE MORE TIME before heading back.. and i pulled that off.. i came back to shore riding on my hood, all happy, and everyone was pissed they missed a solid opportunity...

for anyone who really wants to do a backflip but is having trouble making it happen, i'd recommend making the same bet with your friends.. if anything else, its a HELL of a motivator! hahahaha :haha:

slut, i know what you mean.. i have a certain 'classic' dvd where a certain rider is doing these half as blaster BR's that are more like pirouets.. (sp?)

jetskier79, i'm glad i asked about the straps.. i didnt know they were a 'requirement'.. blaster701 was trying to do blaster br's down here 'back in the day' (circa 2003) and he had neither straps nor a fullface helmet.. he used to wear a skater helmet... well, long story short, he was doing these br's about 80% around.. and one time.. bam.. kissed the bars with his face SOLID.. left all his crap on the beach and headed to an emergency dentist to stitch up his GUMS.. ouch.

idok, the blaster1 in the video in front of me is jetrock doing his world-famous 'half-nothings' ... lol

saki, let me know when you want to try some out at Sebby, I'll meet up with you. I've tried a few times but never get a shot at decent waves on this coast.

Saki...you will have no problem rollin that baster. Like Jerry said very much like a standup. You did unreal rolls on the standup and you will just have to throw them a little harder on that sitdown of yours. Strap up and give er a go!

I wanna try one too....

Slutty get Saki to bring that thing to daytona...

Just a FYI...you might want to reinforce that thing a little. Last time I rode waveblaster69's ski I broke it below the bond line on both sides. Not really doing anything that big, just a slightly over rotated roll and another slightly under roated. But they were flat like a stand up the difference is if you roll like that on the blaster they land flat also. I think this is the reason Jimmi rolls like he does, it is easier on the ski. Maybe wrong though
