Big thumbs up to fellow Standup Riders - my weekend

 Saturday I went out to meet up with a fellow living close to me, to ride. It was three of us....me on a 650 Squarenose (since my "adequately powered" roundnose is lacking a working topend :banghead: ), Suva (Member here) on a Kawi 650/750, and his buddy on a 550.
Turns out my bilge pumps weren't working and I was missing a rideplate.
So I bagged it after about an hour tops and went home.
Sunday morning I opened the hood to find water in the bilge up to just below the carb. I guess I shoulda remembered that the bilge pumps were indeed not working.
Anyhow, engine was fine. I got the pumps running, installed a rideplate, and headed out to meet up with those guys again.
This time, the ski ran for all of 10 seconds before quitting. It had spark, so I can only speculate that the fuel system has either water or dirt in it.
There were a total of probably 5 or 6 standups there yesterday. Couple of 550s, couple of 650s, and an SXI.
My ski wasn't running, and I hardly knew these people. And yet, I gave one of those guys my battery (his was dead, and I wasn't using it!), we got invited to come have beer and chill, and I got to ride Kawi's for a couple of hours.

What a great time. Thumbs up.

I wish everyone was like that.

I let my buddy that I rode with for the first time. His battery was dead on his total loss. But he is crazy, he had some little tiny battery tray for a little tiny battery. So we had to do some riggin. We tore up the foam for the tool holder on my sxr, used some short bungies. But we got it, I wish I had my camera to take a picture.

I met up with a few peep's this weekend as well from the "other" site and let them have a crack at my ski. One kid had a 550 so it was a little startling to him jumping on a limited SXR. I could hardly get him off it. Then I saw a 15F on the beach and I wanted to see why all the SD racers want this ride. Granted it didn't have a supercharger, but it was pretty impressive as far as throttle response! Couldn't imagine what Farthings boat must be like. I let the guy with the 15F try mine. Got a laugh out of that but he appreciated what it takes to ride one hard.

A friend of some of my riding buddies just bought a 15f. I will say that every one of us stand-up riders took turns on that thing and we all came back with big grins on our faces, saying if we ever bought a couch it would be that one. Those things absolutely rip.

********ty. It's like the D-Cut extreme edition.

But still more ridable than my blazer.
Really, the nose is way up, it porpoises like crazy, and it tends to tip very easy in slow turns.

Actually....I was riding two weekend ago with board member Phill (my brother-in-law).
Since his two skis were out of commission, we were riding my roundnose and my 650 Square.
Naturally, he was given the Square. :cheer:
After about 20 minutes of wake jumping (and him falling alot!) he motions me over and says he wants to trade skis.
As he speeds off, starts grinning and comments "See how it rides!"

So I take off and immediately notice something is wrong.
I then noticed there was a rideplate missing.
He lost it while jumping and it took him a couple of minutes to figure it out, but figure it out he did.

I think you should not blame me for loosing the ride plate because you did not tighten the bolts down:bigeyes:

And I'm not sure how you rode it for an hour.....After 5 mins. I couldnt stand it!
