Best starter and throttle cables

I am having some engine work completed and will need some new parts...

Looking to get opinions on starters and a new throttle cable for dual 38's...

Do you guys use aftermarket or OEM stuff?

Any specific brand or seller?

Thanks...

I use an OEM Kawasaki throttle cable on my Superjet. Better quality than Yamaha and less than half the price. Possibly only a third.

For starters, I like OEM the best.

Need opinions on aluminum battery boxes as well... I know blowsion and atp make them and I have seen some homemade ones as well...

I don't care if it's homemade or from an aftermarket company but i do want to make sure it will fit tall batteries and not just the jetworks setup...

anything I should look out for when looking for one?

thanks to all!!

Off which ski? I'm going to possibly have to replace mine, I'll have to see how the fluid film has worked on mine so far.

REALLY? (Keep in mind I ride 100% surf) I used to ride a kawi 750 before my SJ and I always had problems with my throttle cables getting "stiff", even after I would lubricate them. They never seemed to last more than 4 months before starting to bind. Since I switched to a SJ I have never had to change a throttle cable, its still as easy to pull as it was when I first installed it. I use OEM for everything. Other than blowsions aluminum battery box, the OEM stuff beats any aftermarket products.

I ran one particular Kawi cable for three years in salt and fresh without problems.

Good to see you still in the sport John, We missed you at the last couple rides. Get that ski fixed and come on out.

I switched both our skis over to the Kawi cables last year. They are working flawless so far but it's too soon to tell how they will stand up over time. At $35 a cable you could swap them out more often and still stay ahead on $$ so I don't see the harm either way.

Nothing beats a good used oem starter other than a brand new one. I got my last one used from Jetmaniac for $90 and it was perfect. Same goes for the Bendix's, Chris sells good clean ones for $50.

Thanks for the info guys...yeah I'm still in it but dirt biking still rules it...it was just bad timing that's all...

Part's are for a 2000 SJ...

I'm in the markety for those items so I will check with Jetmaniac...I assumed OEM starters were the way to go but I wanted to check...

Who makes a good battery box?

I run the small Deka ETX-9 batteries so have small custom boxes i got from PancakePete.

Blowsion makes a good unit and so does THRUST. What's wrong with your stocker?
