hey guys picked up a 91 sn superjet stock and was wondering whats the best thing to get more power out of it without going to crazy with price ? the ski runs great now but want more pop. was thinking either a pipe or head. also im pretty sure the impeller is stock

i was thinking 701 as well as i see them going for 500 ready to go. is the 701 motor all bolt in or no ? exhaust and everything line up ? what about the ebox ? is it the same for the 650 as the 701 ?

get rid of the stock prop and get as low a pitch skat or solas as you can find cheap. try that first. a coffmans sizzler pipe only adds 6hp to the 650 motor. not worth the cost and hard to find. motor swap, the exhaust, intake is different and the carb jetting will be wrong.

so is it best to get a motor with all the electronics and exhaust to swap it ? i saw a 701 61x on craigslist but the compression is 135 each. thats low right ? should be about 150 ? i was searching for the best prop and ive seen ppl post either the skat or solas 12/17 or 13/17 ? which is better

the guy wants 650 for the motor and ebox with exhaust. good deal ? 17/23 huh. would i need to do any pump work like bore the nozzle ?

17/23 is a huge prop and not desireable at all. your motor wont be able to turn that and you'll lose top speed from lower RPM. i'm not sure if its better than the stock prop......... 9/17 14/17 old skat or 12/17 13/17 solas can be had fairly cheap and work way better than stock.

okay ill look for one of those. i heard its a real pain in the ass to get the prop off so i think ill take it to somebody. anybody think the motor is a good deal ?

The props aren't bad to remove. I'd agree on the Concord Solas 13/17 especially a cutback, although a 9/15 Hooker would be better (but a bunch more money).

I actually found the Coffman Sizzler pipe to really wake up our 650 and it was like $150 or so used.

woke it up like a screaming infant! it was louder , so you thought it added power. 6HP on coffmans dyno and good luck getting one of those for a buck fitty.

Last season I was looking for more thrust... Found the stubby cone for the pump made quite the difference. Motor could be a good deal, just check the output shaft for any slop as sign the crank is starting to let go, or putting a few bucks into the top end to freshen it up. In all honesty the ebox will be nice so in the future if something goes bad u have a spare of everything.

Hey man I'm in the same boat as you. 91 stock superjet that runs absolutely excellent. I've been researching for a while and what I think I'm going to do with it next off season is buy a b-pipe and try to get the best new carb jetting I can get. I need to find out the pitch of my prop...

...does anyone know where to look for prop pitch stamping without pulling the prop from the pump? if not I need to pull my prop and measure it. And if I can swing it and it's appropriate enough I'll I can swing it I'd do the prop after that.

i was thinking the same thing but a b pipe is about a hundred bucks less then a nice 701 motor so its worth the money to just get the motor swap in my opinion. footholds are going to be installed soon as well and a prop.
