Congrats!!
But she will never be fully done! It's like a woman, there's always something else she will be needing!

Yeah right now I am trying to figure out why the impeller only spins off idle when I grab the gas.. Have to feather her to get going... :(

thats odd. did you torque it properly?

Everything was torqued to spec following the that downloadable manual. Maybe the intermediate shaft is giving me issues? So I got my pipe hot enough that you couldn't touch it, but cool enough that water doesn't sizzle on it. The headpipe was still cool/not very warm to the touch though.

No Picture of her complete??????....THIS THREAD IS LAME! *stomps off*

Have to wrap the bond line with turf still so she looks a little ghetto. :(

Footholds and tray padding/turf turned out great though, and she is so light and nimble. Also a nice change having the back end float up and out of the water. =)

Was there a reason it did tho?
I think the common practice is to brush on some antisieze, then crank it pretty tight by hand with a wrench.

No thread jack intended.
I just tightened it up as tight as I could get it with a wrench (which was very tight). After a day of riding it spun off and near destroyed the impeller. Now I blue loktite them on, and have never had that problem again.

yep ive seen them loosen. since the motor kicks around a bit at idle, im curious if its spinning loose then traveling down the threads when you gas it. just an idea, i like to think out of the box if you havent noticed lol.

Basic sj build my ass Cody!! Damn dude. Ski looks great. I have been at the afterbay every day this week so far. Gonna be back there tomorrow night. We need to meet up dammit!

I will try and get off work early and bring the blaster out. Have the SJ pulled back apart trying to track down my pump issue... =(

So far the mid shaft looks good splines are all deep, both o-rings still look good. But did not put any silicone around the seal so hopefully that is all it needs. Going to also replace the packing seal between the shoe and wear ring.

On a side note I found she was leaking around the screws in the pump shoe so it was worth pulling apart to fix that.

I put the prop on with anti seize and use two big ass wrenches to torque her down tell the shaft starts to bend. I will double check while I have her part though. thanks!

I had the pleasure of riding the project ski today and it was a blast! Much different then my stock bodied sn sj. It handled really well, handled the surf good, was much lighter than my ski, and was fun to jump. Thanks for a good night at the lake Quinc!!

She runs like a champ. Leaps out of the water when you grab the throttle, pulls hard through mid and tops out in the high 40's. I am going to go up a jetsize on the high and low and see how much more i can get out of her. Problem with the pump ended up being the pump seal. Replaced it with my old blaster seal and now she hooks right now. =)

Still need to turf the rails..

Should also mention that the pole might be a little bit to short and it makes getting back on a pain in the arse. Also she doesn't idle. Not sure if carbon fiber reeds have some kind of break in period or maybe i just need a bigger low jet? Other then that she runs perfect doesn't load up, no hesitation etc. =)

The pole size isnt the issue at all. If the pole sat at the lowest setting on the hood it will be a piece of cake to get up on it. Just need to straighten her out a bit and youre gtg.
