Bad start/stop causing intermittant spark?

I know the start/stop switch has issues since you have to jiggle the lanyard a few times to get it to start.

Couldn't get it to start this weekend because of no spark or only an occassional spark.

Started messing with it today and it started right up a few times. Then I pulled the lanyard and put it on again and now only an occasional spark again.

Is this a bad coil or cdi on top of the start/stop switch? Can the bad switch let the starter turn AND keep the coil from sparking at the same time?

Yes, you can get the starter to spin and still not get spark... Sounds like a bad s/s switch or s/s connection.

If you unplug the stop circuit (black connector i think) from the ebox, and it starts every time with no problem, then you know it is the s/s switch... But remember to either turn you idle way down or remove the F/A so that you can choke the engine of all air in order to kill the engine since your stop circuit will be non existent at this point.
