Sandusky Bay Barge Party
Check out: sanduskybaybargeparty.com (photo gallery)
Date: Saturday August 8th
Location: Sandbar dividing Sandusky Bay and Lake Erie
Entertainment: Band (Key Motion) starts 1pm
What Is It: Last barge party of the summer. A not to miss event with a turnout like Jobbie Nooner on Lake St. Clair and Lake Havasu Spring Break. If your a fan of boats, babes, brews, beaches, waves...well anything you can think of that's fun...you'll find it here. The Shepherds barge comes over from Sandusky with the band and enough space on it for people to shake their money makers. If you feel inclined to show some more adult dance moves...the stripper pole does not disciminate.
How To Get There: By Boat or PWC only. The sandbar is a peninsula off Marblehead at Bay Point Marina. It is located between Johnson's Island in Sandusky Bay and Cedar Point break wall in Lake Erie. It's accessible by Dempsey's Public Access (Directions below) with 4 very wide launches. While idleing out of the marina, head Left towards Johnson's Island Bridge. Go under bridge and head right on a diagonal (South East). Can't miss it from there..you'll see all the boats. If you want a good spot, plan on getting there early like 9-10am.
What to bring: If you've ever been on the water as a registered boater, then you know the rules and what you need in that respect. Same applies to the beach, bring what you always need...sunscreen, towel, liquids. Snacks are not a bad idea as well. There is a lot of partying on this day, so you'll need to keep your energy up. They float over a few smaller barges that grill up burgers and dogs right on the spot. Again, make sure you bring your own refreshments as they will not have that available.
**I am not affiliated with the sponsoring of this event. Please act responsibly on and off the water in a safe manner. I can however offer guidance and answers to questions about the barge party, Sandusky Bay and Lake Erie**
