I had been wanting to install a switch to change between curves in my EPIC but had been wrestling with where to put it. I finally settled that today and installed it behind the cap inside the fuse tube. It's a tight fit and requires some mods to the tube but well worth it in the end to have the switch protected from triggering as well as protected from the elements.

Whatcha think? Is it OCD enough for ya?

Nice job Boyer, but I think you just wanted to play with one of those trick switches! LOL

I actually had to tame down my SS865 for surf. The curve I had in it hits so hard I'm getting worn out just hanging on. Now I can switch to a smoother power more suitable for slashing and re-entries.

Yea, it sux having all that power.

Good thing the EPIC came around to solve that.

It's really hard to find a kawi 300 cylinder and cases in good shape.

LOL!!!

I couldn't resist.

O.k.
You're right. I've ridden some other guys ski's that were flat out incredible. But I would not ride them in the surf.

And I'm a surf-only guy ...so far.

It's just funny to hear "too much power" complaints!

(5 minutes on Josh's Rickter+XS1000 in flatwater wiped me out)

I updated the switch location again this weekend after getting stuck in the surf with my EPIC set on crazy. I lost track of what curve I was on and was doubting I was on my surf curve and switched it for our last session. Between exhaustion and the chopped up surf, my "Crazy" curve was just too much for me so I had to come back in early. The switch in the e-box was good and safe but very inconvenient to access. Since I developed the "Surf Armor" toggle switch I am no longer in fear of having the toggle outside the e-box so today I moved some things around.

The first thing I had to do was build a new "Tidy Bilge" harness. The old one didn't have enough room for 2 more wires so I built a new one that had a longer drop to tie into the new cable running up to the handpole. I then built up a "Surf Armor" toggle switch with long enough leads to run from the handlpole down to the e-box and built a mounting plate that will bolt to an existing location on my RRP handpole.

All in all I am pretty pleased and can't wait to be able to switch between curves on the fly.

P.S. Thank You for the tip Josh, X-Scream motors absolutely love 32deg of advance :bigok:
