My t/l is not fused right now-I bet it will be by this weekend! I have hooked cables up backwards at a race before on stk ignition-not good.

Well hooked everything up real frankenstein like and it appears to be firing both plugs every other time which is what it sounded like on the lake. I'll try to pull the engine tommorrow and double check that the flywheel and stator plate are ok. Wouldn't be the first time that more than one thing on this ski was causing the same problem.

Well I yanked the engine, pulled the flywheel and everything out and look what I found...

Cleaned everything up, confirmed that the flywheel and pickup were working properly, and put it all back together. Unfortunately, it still appears to be firing every other time so I'm fearing the worst. I made a post on the MSD forums in hopes that one of the tech's there can offer some hope.

If not, who's got a cheap single channel brain they want to sell?

That sucks the big one, I would think anytime you smell the scent of burnt electronics... its done for. I had my positive cable from the battery contact the brain the other day, It sparked and I almost messes myself. No damage done but it scared me.

what is that black thing going from the red wire at the battery to the brain??? could that be a fuse??? not labeled.

I guess it could be a fuse but why would it be connected to both positive and negative wires?
