anyone make a ratcheting hood strap?

Make your own. You can pick up stainless ratchets cheap from the internet, then just use some good outdoor webbing. Done.
I made one out of a cheesy wal-mart ratchet to get me by for a couple weeks.

This is where the problem is, metal is in direct contact with the fabric where you see the holes. Salt water and the fact that you are continuously "pulling" on them will eventually wear them out and it will pop.

I am pretty sure it will take time for it to happen and may never happen, who knows, just make sure you checked those holes on the Fabric for wear and tear regularly....

p.s: I have seen it happen....not a pretty sight. :Thinkingof_:

Kraqus, good point - I havnt had any problems so far in 6 months use - but made some spare straps in case. I will take a look at them now im laid up and report back. I did heat seal the holes in an attempt to stop moisture ingress to the fabric

that is why you double them up and use brass eyelets and a punch

blowsion is really expensive anyone else have them?

I will sell this one to ya for .... how about 15 CND plus shipping.

It is all stainless and has a bolting flange welded in stainless so the ratchet stays on the ski. Just add a strap to the front of your ski and go.
