Any vids of tiny hull...

Matt,
Have you ridden a freak? You really should come my direction next wave day and ride pt Sheldon with us. Mine is one of the heavier Tem has built in a carbon and weighs just over 60lbs. It is a -1.25" length.

Everybody is always biased toward their own stuff, but I have honestly never ridden a ski I liked better. I hear that same comment from every single person that has ridden my ski in the surf.

Don't buy ANYTHING without some test rides first. I did some traveling to test ride hulls before I made the purchase. I wasn't on Tem's freak for more than 2 minutes and I knew it was what I wanted. Other skis I was pretty much hating after 30 seconds.

That's what I am doing... Still thinking a modular hull idea will work... If I were a hull maker that's the direction I would be going. Bolt on a TRUE hull extension / tubbies for surf take off for flat. Nice write up Shark.

Lightweight DE? If I wanted a do it all ski, I think that MIGHT be the only option.

I have ridden a lot of aftermarket hulls the past year...........and for surf, the only ones I would ride (besides mine) would be a Trinity Matrix, WDK Rok, Superfreak or KDX. (I have not ridden a Rickter or EME yet). I also saw Erok pulling flatwater backys, NO PROBLEM on his Freak and that hull would be good in the surf for sure.

I do not have the ability or experience to judge any of the super short hulls for flatwater, so I won't....but, they truly are for Flatwater and not for any true surf-riding over 5 mph. I have ridden 4 of them and the only thing I can say about them is, NOT FOR SURF or WAVES.

i took a chance on the new krash footrocket. as most know me from my sj only attitude, it was a huge risk, but to me it was totally worth it. the biggest change that made it all worth it is how fast it turns, the thing will snap turns off the lip and carve bottom turns so well, its going to be hard to go back. i was worried the super small size would make it impossible to stomp airs how i want, but i was proven wrong laat weekend, it did it all. the only problem i have is the spray off the nose at higher speeds. i only notice that riding in chop and because i havent installed the sprat deflector yet. i really am digging the full rocker next gen hulls that, i think, are going to take over the whole scene.

My 750sx powered Q8 is really fun in the surf - I've slammed it down a few dozen different ways, and she's still holding up fine. I'm in Phoenix now, so the trip to Oceanside is a bit of a drive though.
