Freestyle Any interest in 813M08600 Kawi style pistons?

As stated above, their has to be alot of us running 813M08550 Kawi style flat tops and the next step is re-sleeve. I was talking to a well known long time engine builder this week and he said if there was enough interest he would call Wiseco and have a special run of 86mm pistons made for us.

From what I THINK I understand IF you order 12 pistons at a time a 'special run' is not that much more money. I don't want to speculate price until he reads here that there is enough interest to call Wiseco and get a firm price. Art said he is not scared to stock a few, but obviously does not want to make the special order and then be stuck with the entire order and never sell them.

Art is also working on having Wiseco build a 83.5mm oem style piston for those that are doing big bores with the Yamaha style dome top pistons because the step goes from 83mm to 84mm now with no step between the 2.

I am running one of the old cast Lamey cylinders and don't think there will be an issue. As far as other setups running this style piston, I don't know. Tricky would be the one to best answer that question.

No problem on the cylinder sleeves, but the domes will have to be opened up, and the ADA domes get really thin @86.5

This is actually pure greed and fear on my part. I am at 85.5 and it makes my stomach ache knowing that Art has my setup absolutely spot on for my likes and it is time to re-sleeve and start over. What if Art quits building motors or any number of things that could go wrong. If I had 86's available all my fears would be gone! My motor may not be the baddest motor on the planet, but I like to call it the grandmaster spankmaster! lol

well, if he decides to quit building motors, be sure he passes all of his cutting knowledge on to you...lol

For the modified ada domes, brooks does them on request, yak8728L15 for example... they have a 87mm squish band instead of the default 86mm one.

Are we the only ones running Kawi flat top pistons? It's not a big hurry for me at all because I have 1 more season at 85.5 (as long as nothing blows up in the near future), I am just curious as is Art Gomez at Jetworks aka the connection to actually getting this done if it can be done reasonably priced. Obviously I would be more than happy to have 2 pairs sitting on my workbench for the next 2 years if this came together in the near future for reasons stated in earlier posts. (I LOVE MY MOTOR) lol
