Alt. to Wet/Dry pipe on a SXR?

OK, I am looking for info on a SXR pipe set up.

I know some have used a 750 Mod pipe on an SXR. My question is how is the exhaust routed? Are there multiple chambers, or the water box completely eliminated?

Am I missing something here?

Any info on this kinda odd set up is greatly appreciated.

These are the only pics i can find of this kinda set up.

One shows a waterbox being used, and fed out the left rear of the ski 750.

The other includes a resonator of some sort.

Any help......

In your second post it looks like they bypassed the waterbox and ran a texas chainsaw massacre setup. I am not sure why they show the two different chambers, one exits on the bottom and one out the point.

The waterbox on the 750's is behind the electrical box on the left side of the ski...so I don't know...I guess you would have to find a way to run it back under the chamber and turn 90 into the waterbox. I think it would be easier with the one that exits on the bottom as opposed to the point of the chamber.

Yeah..thats what I was thinking too. But it looks like it's a closed chamber and from what i can tell, there doesnt seem to be an outlet to the water box. i dunno.

I'm about ready to just put on a dry pipe, and Total loss and ride until my arms hurt.

I had a wet pipe, and honestly i wasnt happy.

I was considering this set up, because A) I dont do anything easy, and B) It would make the front of the ski lighter without the water box.

Im sure it would be much louder which is nice as well.

This is the chamber you would want to use. It has an opening on the bottom that would be fairly easy to run to the waterbox.

Will this pipe work?

Is it just possible that I can't see the other opening on this pipe from the picture?

The last two pics you posted are of a 750 limited pipe. You can't see the exhaust exit because it's on the opposite side of the chamber. The picture of the pipe installed is of a 750 engine compartment also, the SXR engine compartment is slightly different. You could make this pipe work on an SXR except it will take a lot of custom modifications. If it's not obvious what you need to do to make it work you should stick with a set up that has already been engineered (Direct bolt up) to fit your SXR.

post 1 pic 3 is the mod pipe that will fit into a sxr with no mods. that set up doesn't use the water box but just that wee resanator and joins right up with with the exhust where it goes thro the rear bulk head . here is a pic off a mod pipe set up in a sxr . this set up is real loud
