It is a bit lighter, but you're not talking major savings here.

A SJ needs about 4 cuft of foam, so when using 3lb foam you're at 12lbs total.

yeah, but you ain't soakin' polystyrene, either. when you get into talkin' weight savings because your foam isn't taking on water through stress-cracks in the hull from aggressive riding, yeah, major weight savings.

You can't get it as a liquid mix, to the best of my knowledge.
You buy it in sheets and cut it to fit.

I just read that whole freakin' thread man..lol, I hate choppin' into skis, i always feel like I'm not gonna get it back where it won't leak, but I guess you've "dissolved" that problem with the plugs. I don't know if that pink foam will not waterlog, it seems like I have seen chucks of it at the lake that had water in them. I guess we could test a piece of it and sit a brick on it inside of a bucket of water for a week. I thought you were talking about the white stuff that they float docks with. anyway, yeah, I know what foam you're talking about, I make r/c planes out of that stuff.

It's the same stuff. It's all Polystyrene, and it's all closed cell and will not absorb water.

hey harrison, wasn't jeff jacobs racing a wammer hull at the '97 skat world finals? I thought it was illegal to run freestyle hulls like that in factory racing. he was racing for team yamaha, that doesn't make any sense.

confused.

Honestly I dont know, But I do know that wammer build carbon race boats long before he build freestyle ski's.

1997 IJSBA still had the Mod Class Rules in place, this lasted until 98. 99 brought on the SuperStock rules.

I remember them saying it was longer than a stock superjet.

what was the point in changing the rules?

so, the manufacturers raised hell and got the rules changed? jeff was riding for team yamaha on a wamilton hull, painted like a stock '97 superjet..

Jeff raced for RIVA. At that time, Yamaha had several race teams with factory support.
