I personally like the squares more than the rounds, but sometimes it is a matter of availablity. If hoods were available I think they would be more popular. This is a bold statement but I will never own a roundnose SJ

I agree, it sounds a bit snoody for people to say that people who have square noses are only because they are cheap asses who dont have money to have a round nose...bull********.
I have about 2800 into my square right now, and plan on pouring more money in it. I could have EASILY found a round hull for 3k, but chose not to. Some people actually like the feel of a square vs. round. It's a matter of preference, not nessecarily money. I don't plan on ever buying a round, if I do buy another superjet, or a different superjet, it will most definately be another square, it's just my preference.
With that said...
I wouldnt pay 600 for a hood that might shave 5lbs off a ski...All tricks that can be done with an aftermarket hood, can also be done with a stock hood. 600 is too much, in my opinion, just for the 'cool' factor.

With a stock "modified" hood you mean. Which is a lot of work to do it right the first time.

Nothing cool about it. It's a necessity for a lot of tricks in order not to swamp your carb or you whole ski!!

if you are unwilling to spend 600$+ on a hood it dosent matter what you ride.i dont thing it has anything to do with the cool factor either.its about superior funtion.i dont understand why everyone thinks a squarenose shouldnt cost as much as a roundnose hood:bs2:

I won't say I'll never own a round, but if anything ever happened to my square or I no longer had it for any reason, I wouldn't specifically seek out a round or a square. I would seek out a superjet and ride whatever style I could get my hands on first. I will have just as much fun on whatever shape SJ I ride.

Then again I have never been one who has to have the newest everything in order to impress people.

I love my sq.... ski and it'll be an even better ski with the new hood.:cheer:

PS-Agree with Superjet113. It's not about cool jetdude.... it's about function!
